Bucci Film Festival awards Iranian cinematographer

Asghar Besharati, Iranian cinematographer of the short film ‘Chal’, has succeeded to win the Best Cinematography Award at the 2021 Bucci Film Festival in Italy.  

The 60-second ‘Chal’ is also directed and acted by Besharati.

The film tells the story of life and death, in which a fisherman who is fishing with Chal method notices a live fish swimming in a very small pit of water.

‘Chal’ has previously participated in the 2021 Minsk International Short Film Festival in the Republic of Belarus as well as the Dhaka International Film Festival where it grabbed the Dhaka Bangladesh Gold Medal.

Besharati is one of the prominent photographers and filmmakers in the country who has played a valuable role in introducing the cultural, natural, and island tourism potentials of the Persian Gulf to the people of Iran and the world by photographing and making short films on environmental issues, customs and tourism.

The event was held on July 20-23, 2021.
